Cloud Architect/Engineer (SME)

Provides strategic cloud-related architecture and engineering guidance and solutions. Applies advanced knowledge of Cloud Service Providers such as AWS and Azure. Designs, builds, integrates, installs, secures, modernizes, migrates, and/or transitions private, public, or hybrid cloud services. Architects and engineers private cloud services to enable Mission Partners to design, build, integrate, install, secure, administer, support, modernize, and/or transition a single-tenant cloud to meet secure mission requirements and to offer these services to other customers. Supports as-a-service delivery implementation. Architects and engineers hybrid cloud solutions that combine private and public cloud infrastructure or services. Designs or defines cloud network infrastructure. Defines and implements data management and security elements, to include local laws and regulations as well as DoD Secure Cloud Computing Architecture, NIST, STIGS, and DoD Cloud Standards. Develops specifications for new cloud products/services, applications, and service. Defines deployment plans, key performance metrics and SLAs, standard operating procedures, and organizational readiness considerations (e.g., change management, training plans). Integrates cloud services with onsite or offsite data centers, networks, virtualized IT infrastructure, and other types of IT infrastructures. Defines, documents, and implements cloud retirement activities, to include management and execution of all required retirement activities. Provides input to the Cloud Service Management Plan.
