Cloud Architect/Engineer (SME)

DC Metro Area · Full-time, On-site · Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling

We are currently hiring a Cloud Architect for our Zero Trust integration effort with the US Air Force. This position will be located at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling and will be a full-time on-site position supporting Headquarters Air Force A2.

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to support the design, implementation, and optimization of Zero Trust architectures within secure environments across the U.S. Intelligence Community. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in cloud-native technologies, modern security frameworks, and mission-focused solution engineering. This role will be responsible for guiding enterprise-level cloud modernization efforts while ensuring compliance with IC security standards and Zero Trust principles.

  • Lead the architecture, design, and deployment of cloud solutions that incorporate security concepts across compute, network, identity, data, and application layers.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise cloud reference architectures that align with IC directives, NIST 800-207, and agency-specific security strategies.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity engineers, network engineers, system administrators, and mission stakeholders to define secure, scalable, and resilient cloud patterns.
  • Evaluate new cloud services, technologies, and tools for applicability in secure IC enclaves.
  • Support the migration of legacy systems to cloud environments while integrating Zero Trust capabilities such as continuous authentication, micro segmentation, and data-level protections.
  • Provide technical leadership, documentation, and architectural guidance for development teams and operational support personnel.
  • Participate in engineering review boards, security assessments, and architecture governance processes.
  • Troubleshoot complex cloud and security issues in highly controlled environments.

Mandatory Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Active TS/SCI Eligibility
  • At least 12 months experience with the Air Force Intelligence Community
  • Experience developing and maintaining enterprise cloud reference architectures that align with IC directives, NIST 800-207, and agency-specific security strategies
  • Experience with analysis of technologies and development of technical artifacts such as white papers, reports, and Analysis of Alternatives
  • Experience with Identity, Credential, and Management technologies (PingFederate, Entra, CyberArk, SailPoint, Cisco TrustSec, Illumio)
  • Experience with Cybersecurity technology (Flexera, VanDyke, HYCU)
  • 6–9 years’ experience performing the following:
    • Experience designing systems within highly regulated or classified environments
    • Experience architecting, designing, and deploying hybrid cloud solutions
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences

Systems Engineering

Senior Systems Engineer

We are currently hiring a Systems Engineer for our Zero Trust integration effort with the US Air Force. This position will be located at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling and will be a full-time on-site position supporting Headquarters Air Force A2.

The Systems Engineer’s role is designing, managing, and optimizing complex enterprise systems ensuring their efficiency and reliability across the intelligence community in support of the United States Air Force A2 Intelligence Directorate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement architectures across enterprise environments (on-prem, cloud, hybrid).
  • Create detailed technical designs, diagrams, and system integration plans for authentication, authorization, and network segmentation.
  • Evaluate and recommend information technologies (e.g., ZTNA, SDP, IAM, PAM, micro segmentation, SASE).
  • Engineer and maintain solutions for multi-factor authentication (MFA), single sign-on (SSO), and federated identity services.
  • Implement continuous authentication and risk-based access controls.
  • Integrate identity services with applications, APIs, and endpoints.
  • Ensure proper enforcement of least privilege, including policy design and periodic access reviews.
  • Implement micro segmentation (host-based or network-based) for sensitive workloads.
  • Configure and maintain software-defined perimeter (SDP).
  • Integrate systems with SIEM, SOAR, XDR, and behavior analytics tools to provide continuous monitoring.
  • Implement robust logging, auditing, and telemetry pipelines to support decision engines.

Mandatory Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Active TS/SCI Eligibility
  • At least 12 months experience in the Air Force Intelligence Community
  • Experience with Identity, Credentialing, and Management technologies (PingFederate, Entra, CyberArk, SailPoint, Cisco TrustSec, Illumio)
  • Experience with Cybersecurity technology (Flexera, VanDyke, HYCU)
  • DoD 8140 Level II (Sec+CE, SSCP, CND, CCNA Security, etc.)
  • 6–9 years’ experience performing the following:
    • Requirements engineering (writing, analyzing, validating)
    • Systems architecture and design
    • Interface definition and control
    • System modeling and simulation
    • System integration & testing
    • Lifecycle management (V-model, waterfall, agile, MBSE)
    • Knowledge of systems engineering principles
    • Requirements & architecture competency
    • Integration & test experience
